Meet Katie!

Katie’s path to the MJC was a unique one and she is so happy to be able to continue her work assisting landlords and tenants in identifying solutions to their housing related challenges through mediation at the MJC. Katie has a Bachelors degree in Sociology, a Masters degree in Criminal Justice with an Emphasis on Victim and Offender Services and she also has formal training in dispute resolution and is certified in mediation, strengthening her commitment to restorative, trauma-informed approaches to dispute resolution. Katie has a very diverse background. Her mediation career began with mediating for Family Court, and she has also worked in managed care, supervised visitation, with victims of domestic violence and in rent assistance before accepting a position as Program Director of the Landlord/Tenant Mediation Program at Mediate Milwaukee, which ultimately led to her current position with the MJC.

Outside of work, Katie’s favorite hobby is fostering puppies through the Wisconsin Humane Society. Katie also loves getting outside with her own crew of crazy dogs, traveling, reading and supporting her teenage daughters in their various sports and academic endeavors.
